1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Blue Collar Social (“the Platform,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) at www.bluecollar.social, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
Blue Collar Social is a professional networking platform that connects skilled tradespeople, trade companies, and homeowners. The Platform allows users to create profiles, post and apply for jobs, exchange messages, build professional connections, post content, submit and receive reviews, and manage projects.
We also maintain a public directory of trade businesses, some of which are imported from publicly available sources and have not yet been claimed by their owners. Business owners may claim their listing through our verification process.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Blue Collar Social. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- You will use the Platform in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- All information you provide is accurate and truthful
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when registering
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others
- Notify us immediately at contact@bluecollar.social of any unauthorized use of your account
- Not create multiple accounts or impersonate any person or entity
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that are used for fraudulent or abusive purposes.
5. User Conduct
You agree not to use the Platform to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information, reviews, or job listings
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Spam, solicit, or engage in unsolicited commercial communications
- Impersonate a business you do not own or represent
- Circumvent the Platform to conduct business off-platform after using it to make contact
- Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to the Platform without authorization
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content designed to disrupt the Platform
- Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law or regulation
- Engage in discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or any other protected class
6. Content
6.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you post to the Platform (posts, photos, reviews, project descriptions, etc.). By posting content, you grant Blue Collar Social a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and use that content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform.
You are solely responsible for your content and warrant that it:
- Does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Is not defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful
- Accurately represents your services, work, or experience
6.2 Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate.
7. Reviews
Reviews on Blue Collar Social must be honest and based on your genuine experience. You may not:
- Post fake or incentivized reviews
- Review yourself or your own business
- Post reviews in exchange for payment or other compensation
Reviews linked to completed, verified projects are marked as “Verified.” Verification requires a $5 fee processed via Stripe to confirm a genuine transaction took place. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any review, verified or otherwise.
8. Jobs and Projects
Blue Collar Social is a platform to facilitate connections between parties — we are not a party to any agreement between a homeowner or company and a tradesperson. We do not:
- Guarantee the quality, safety, or completion of any work
- Verify licenses, insurance, or certifications unless explicitly indicated
- Handle payments between users for services rendered (except for the $5 verification fee)
- Mediate or resolve disputes between users
You are responsible for conducting your own due diligence before hiring or contracting with any user on the Platform.
9. Directory Listings
Our public directory includes listings imported from publicly available data sources. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee it. If you are a business owner and believe a listing contains incorrect information about your business, you may claim or contact us to correct it.
Claiming a listing verifies you as the business owner and converts the listing into your managed profile. You take full responsibility for the accuracy of your profile after claiming.
10. Payments
The Platform currently charges a $5 fee for transaction verification badges on reviews. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe’s Terms of Service. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
11. Referral Program
Users who refer new members to the Platform via their unique referral link may receive a ranking boost in our directory algorithm. This boost is a courtesy and not a guarantee. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the referral program at any time without notice. Referral codes may not be used in a misleading or deceptive manner.
12. Intellectual Property
All Platform content, design, trademarks, logos, and software — excluding user-generated content — are the property of Blue Collar Social and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
13. Disclaimers
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BLUE COLLAR SOCIAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Blue Collar Social, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at contact@bluecollar.social. Sections 6, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 17 survive termination.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction, as applicable under law.
